Simulation of Microstructure Evolution in Mg Alloys by Phase-Field Methods: A Review

Microstructure is one of the vital factors that determine mechanical properties magnesium (Mg) alloys. However, traditional microstructure characterization methods hardly satisfy needs tracking morphological evolution Mg With rapid development computer simulation, using phase-field method to simulate microstructures in alloys has become new norm. This article provides a review applications First, classic models and derived multi-phase polycrystalline are reviewed, then twin solid-state phase transition was undertaken, research progress simulation solidification, recrystallization, transformation alloys, were gradually introduced. In addition, unresolved problems summarized, possible direction future studies on field discussed.
